Just five minutes from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport this mile-long stretch of beach is a local favorite. Jogging, walking, swimming and people watching are flavored activities. Windsurfers, Hobbies Cats and kite boarders form a colorful display, while San Juan stylish people take the sun. Next door, the Carolina Public Beach has been award a Blue Flag for its pristine waters.

Escambron,Beach

The Balneario El Escambrón is categorized as a Blue Flag beach, an Eco-label granted to beaches with a high water quality, restrooms and lifeguards. The beach has a ramp to provide access to the disabled persons to the beach, showers, security and a restaurant. There is also a bridge that connects the “balneario” with the Luis Muñoz Rivera Park. Beside the beach there is the Tercer Milenio Park that has a jogging trail and a baseball field. It is located at the Old San Juan’s entrance and you can arrive there using public transportation. Parking cost $3 and it’s open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

La Ocho Beach is very well-known for surfing in San Juan. Its bottom is stone and its better wave is the left, although its right is also good. Its name comes from the bus stop that is at the front of the beach, bus stop #8. This beach is special for its location, at the entrance of Old San Juan, and right next to “Balneario el Escambrón.”

Condado Beach


The Balneario Playa del Condado is a small beach surrounded by hotels. The view of the tourist area of San Juan is beautiful. You also will be able to appreciate a fort built by the Spaniards in the seventeenth century. The beach is excellent for swimming, sunbathing or to enjoy with the family. At the beachfront there is a hotel that sells drinks and rents chairs. It has outdoor showers and lifeguards. It is located at the end of the bridge “Dos Hermanos” and at the entrance of the Condado. Ocean Park San Juan


Ocean Park is a beautiful beach and very crowded, located in the Condado, San Juan. It is frequented by people who wish to spend a day in the beach under the sun or enjoying aquatic sports like kite surfing and windsurfing. In the weekends you will see cyclists in the area and sport teams of young people exercising. In its surroundings you will find restaurants and stores of beach articles. It does not have restrooms.
